Meet Jas – Health and Safety Advisor at ODGroup

With 17 years under her belt at ODGroup, Jas is proof that you don’t need a fixed plan to build a meaningful, long-lasting career, you just need drive, curiosity, and the courage to keep saying yes to new challenges.

After joining ODGroup as an administrator, Jas quickly progressed through the roles of Office Manager and Quality & Compliance Manager before finding her niche in health and safety.

Today, she plays a key role in ensuring that every project runs safely, smoothly, and in line with best practice, from head office to site.

“I didn’t go to uni. I left college not really knowing what I wanted to do, but I started temping as a document controller and eventually joined ODGroup. The rest is history.”

What Jas does day-to-day.

Jas provides health and safety support and guidance across the business, from tender stage through to project delivery.

She visits sites regularly, works closely with project teams, monitors industry trends, and helps ODGroup continually raise the bar for safety performance.

“No two days are the same. I travel between sites, meet new people all the time, and get to work with every part of the business.”

She’s also a data-driven problem solver, reviewing performance and subcontractor trends to spot risks before they escalate and using that insight to improve systems, training, and behaviours.

Project highlight: Procore implementation

One of Jas’ most significant contributions to ODGroup has been leading the successful rollout of Procore, now underpinning digital project management across the business. The platform has transformed the way teams work, improving visibility, communication, and collaboration across projects, sites, and stakeholders.

“It was a big step forward and has been a great success. We now work more collaboratively and have much better oversight across our projects.”

This formed part of a wider digital transformation that Jas played a key role in delivering. Alongside Procore, Jas also contributed to the successful implementation of systems such as Breadcrumb, ODGroup’s site sign-in software, further strengthening efficiency, compliance, and consistency across the business.

Proudest achievement

Passing her NEBOSH exam is a standout moment for Jas, not just professionally, but personally too.

“I’m not naturally academic, so I genuinely thought I’d failed. Passing gave me such a confidence boost. It proved to me that I can do it.”

• Process-focused – a natural fit for Health & Safety, where clear procedures and legislation matter.
• Alias alert – known to friends and family as Tina—as in Tina Turner. The nickname stuck.
