Sky, Brick Lane

The details

  • Location: Brick Lane, London
  • Duration: 32 weeks

Our client, a large media company, occupies all 6 floors of number 1 Brick Lane and uses the majority of the space for business critical datacentres that are always in operation. The building itself has UPS and generator backup along with dedicated cooling to all data rooms.

Due to the age of the building, it also had substantial roof leaks which had been patch repaired in recent years but this had merely pushed the leaks to other areas rather than solving the problem.

ODInteriors’ technical processes, site management and project approach became instrumental in solving this problem. Our approach was to overlay a new liquid applied roofing membrane to the entire roof and parapets without affecting the building operations.

In order to do so, we had to agree on a method for separately lifting every piece of kit to give the roofing subcontractor access.
