The Smithson Tower is an iconic modernist Grade II listed building in the heart of St. James’ and ODInteriors were delighted to have had the opportunity to provide a first-class office environment within it for a private capital investment firm. This was a predominantly high-end Cat B fit out with some modifications to the base build M&E front end to suit the new layout. Although a traditionally procured project ODInteriors was integral to the design process and workshopped heavily with the client team in order to provide a design that would offer an exemplary working environment as well as value for money.
At the forefront of the space is the eye-catching fully bespoke joinery and the textured wall finishes including stretched fabric, polished plaster and timber panelling. The floor finishes echo those of the walls to provide a seamless flow and an air of continuity to the space. Although the office demonstrates contemporary comfort it is no less functional and provides all the heating and ventilation, acoustic properties and IT/AV systems that are required in a busy working environment. The project was delivered on time, on budget and to an exemplary standard despite starting at the beginning of the first national lockdown, and feedback from the client has been nothing short of exceptional.
