A merger of two international legal firms in 2010 forged Hogan Lovells, a law firm that immediately joined the ranks of top ten legal service providers in the world. With offices across five continents, the firm has been continuously devoted to solving the toughest legal issues faced by major industries. Atlantic House is the firm’s largest office, advising some of the world’s biggest corporations and financial institutions. Hogan Lovells sought eleven more offices, a redesign of open plan workspace and new meeting rooms to suit employees’ working styles when they are in the office.

This Cat B refurbishment was successfully delivered to Hogan Lovells two weeks earlier than originally planned in order to facilitate staff return to work for the busy season. The timescales to deliver the specified design were not achievable due to procurement challenges but our problem-solving approach to meet Hogan Lovells needs allowed us to re-design elements and deliver the fit-out ahead of time. With consideration to the temporary nature of this workspace, the solution needed to be considerate of budget and sustainability and so design was developed to maximise re-use of furniture, partitioning systems and finishes. The challenge presented with this approach is that a number of the existing systems were discontinued or bore lead times beyond the target completion date. Through clever sourcing of alternative, UK based manufacturers who could provide us with compatible or similar products, we were able to deliver on time and on budget.
