Site-to-Site walk 2022 for Mind

We’re all still buzzing after our site-to-site charity walk for Mind last week.
On what was likely to be the hottest day of the year the OD team undertook a walk between 7 of our live sites that spanned South West London all the way to Canary Wharf.

Our goal was to raise £5,000 for Mind, to support them in their work providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Thanks to many generous donations we smashed our target, having raised over £8,000!

Our walk began at Apex Tower in New Malden, where after some brekkie at Roberto’s café we hit the road, walking 15.5km north, over the river to Nova in Victoria. There we met up with more of the team who joined us for the second stage of our walk, winding our way through central London. We stopped at our sites on King Street and Soho Place, pausing for pictures at all the touristy spots because when did we last go to Buckingham Palace? By the time we reached Fleet Place House in Farringdon the temperature was peaking. Here we picked up the last of our walkers for the third and final stage which took us east to Canary Wharf.

In total, we walked 28km over roughly 7.5 hours in temperatures that reached 32 degrees! Luckily we were prepared with rehydration sachets, energy gels, multiple first aiders, litres of sun cream and most importantly blister plasters! This meant we all made it and got to spend the sunny evening with a view of our last site, State Street, having some well-deserved drinks and sharing stories from the day.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us! Together we raised over £8,000 for Mind. These funds will help them continue their vital work in breaking the stigma around mental health issues and providing support to those who need it.
